What to do with an alterego?

•May 7, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Ya know, I’ve just come to the conclusion, that I can’t plan things to be this way or that way. I’ve learned something about myself: I simply can’t follow the rules of definate planning. For some reason it goes against every grain in my being. I have tried to be organized, and follow the “rules,” step by step, as I have laid them out. Nope. It didn’t work 15 years ago, and it’s not gonna work now. I throw it up to my free spirt, which does not and will not do things the conventional way. So, I’ve been going with it lately, just doing what my will commands me to do. It’s caused a couple of problems,  but nothing major. It’s actually felt good to give in, and allow my alterego ego to drive for a change. I’m like, “Whatever you want, do it. Whatever your little heart desires.”  Well, my alterego has done this:

created two blogs

created two forums, one is up and running

created an on line store, and has done a complete change of name and idea

created a whole new story idea, and is running with it.

What am I to do with her? She’s gone and lost her/my mind!!! LOL!

Actually, I’m going to be giving her more time out, as long as she doesn’t misbehave. I love her new idea for a manuscript, and thought, “What the hell. Maybe she can do a better job. I’m certaintly not getting nowhere!”  And here I am, in the thick of it all.  Where in the world she’s going with all of this is beyond me. I’m just going along for the ride!!

She wants changes to the blog too. I rolled my eyes, and told her “Whatever. Do whatever you will.” This ought to be interesting! Don’t blame me if you get a surpise. ;-)

Alteregos: what can you do with them? Go along fo the ride.

I’ve certainly have gotten carried away with my projects. And it’s taken me away from here. So, after some thought and reasearch, I have now created a forum for all us “arcane souls” to come together.

http://mystichallows.darkbb.com

Stop by, and  give a shout. I look foward to meeting ya’ll.

And if that wasn’t enought, I created a flu pandenic forum to go alone with my pandemic flu central blog.  So, if your interested in emergency/disaster planning/preparing, I’d love to have you drop by.

Like I’ve said, I’m a glutton for punishment! ;-)

Just popped in for a moment.

I was in a bit of a re-decorating mood so I’ve changed my blog look. It’s spring and this is definately much better. Also, I’m going to fuse nia’s world and docia delphia, so that I can keep the blog updated about the on-line store as well.

As spring starts to wind into motion around here, I’m going to get busier, so therefore I sadly have to say I will not have time to work on my other two blogs. However I’m really hoping to put those two into full swing by next winter. But for now, nia’s world and pandemic flu central will take center stage.

I’ve just checked out the new Gothic Beauty magazine. If you still haven’t done so, get your copy while they last. There was only three left when I got mine at Borders, and Hot Topic was sold out.

Hope everyone has a great day, until next time

What’s a business without a customer?

•April 7, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Oh dear! How time passes so quickly!

The snow has finally melted here at Hallowick cottage, and there’s been a flurry of activity outside. I imagine alot of people are doing the same thing. It’s definately been a long winter for alot of us, and we’re eager to get out of our cages!

I’ve been busy on the Fluwiki and PFI forums. As I translate Indonesian articles, I also have to keep up with the suspect and confirmed cases of H5N1. It’s time consuming, but necessary.

My on line store, Docia Delphia is up but my finished yet. Yes, I did stay with 350pages.com, and plan to do so.  I’m moving into a larger work area for the shop, so there have been some renovations to the building that’s taking longer than I anticipated. I am hoping for the end of May to launch Docia Delphia. I’m excited and a little nervous. I’ve always had a local shop, but decided last winter to close it to the public and go on line. The expense as you know, of keeping a shop open is really getting expensive.  I’m also changing my stock, and taking the business into a differnt direction, a creative direction that I’ve always wanted to do. And, as I don’t advacate the use of credit cards,( not everyone has them), payment will be accessable for everyone, as I will only be accepting M.O. (I stopped taking personal checks a while back.) Alot of people don’t feel comfortable using their credit card on the internet as well.  It was a tough decision to not accept these forms of payment, but I feel that only accepting credit cards restricts your potiental customers. When you stop to think about it, alot of potiental business is lost when only credit cards ar accepted.  Yes there may be less hassel involved, but you also loose customers. Everyone should have access to your product(s), and not be denied the privilage to indulge in what you have to offer. I shop at places that do accept M.O. I also refer them to my family and friends as many of them don’t want to use their credit cards over the internet.  It’s a win-win situation for the on-line shop owner and customer. After all, isn’t that the point to running a business?

If you had access to the number of people who do not use credit cards on the internet, but have money to spend, I think you’d be very surprised at the number of potiental customer loss for businesses. And now, with people trying to pay off that card, or have gotten rid of it, accepting M.O. seems logical and sensible. Businesses must change with the times, and economic state in order to survive, and I think it’s time businesses reflect that in their form of accepting payment.  Afterall, what’s a business without a customer?

As I must cut this short for now, have a wonderful evening.

Until next time,

nia

For what it’s worth

I thought instead of commenting on Rob’s comment, I’d give him a post! (lucky him;-)

Thank you Rob, for taking the time to comment about my frustration, and problem(s).Yes my frustration level had peaked, pages loaded way to slow, and accessing certain features, like the font, wouldn’t work. Let me say, that I like 350pages, and want to stay. So, I took a break, enlisted help from Daughter, and we go it.

However Rob, just the fact that you left a “Sorry to hear you having problems. How can I help?” message, you’ve convinced me that your tech support must be first rate. So my good man, you’ve just secured another website.

I wanted to post this, because this is how you do business!

until next time,
